Coast

LeMarche_kustlijn_003The coastline of Le Marche is almost 180 kms long. It is interrupted by the national park “Monte Conero” near Ancona. Here you will find steep limestone cliffs and secluded beaches. Further along the coast are extensive sand and pebble beaches where you can enjoy a day of sun and sea. The most famous beaches in the area are: Porto San Giorgio, San Benedetto del Tronto and Grottamare.

Hills

LeMarche_heuvels_001The landscape between the mountains and the coast is very hilly. This part of Le Marche is like a patchwork, full of vineyards, olive and fruit trees, sunflowers and wheat fields. This environment is ideal for excursions by bicycle, motorbike or car. Quiet winding roads with spectacular views lead you from one medieval town to another, with a bar or an ice-cream parlour on every street corner …

Mountains

Monte_Sibillini_002There are four national parks in the vicinity of Agriturismo Carincone. The nearest national park is the “Monti Sibillini”. The highest peak here is Mount Vettore (2.476m). In the middle of the peaks is the Piano Grande, literally: the great plain. It’s an impressive sight, especially in spring when thousands of flowers colour the plains. The Mount Sibillini Park is a beautiful place for year-round climbing and hiking activities! In winter, the park is beautiful with its white peaks, silhouetted against the bright blue sky. There is plenty of opportunity for taking winter hikes and ski tours. The same applies to the national park “Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga”. On a clear day you can see the majestic Corno Grande (2.912m) from almost anywhere in the Marches. The national park “Gola della Rossa e di Frasassi” is known for its impressive stalactite and stalagmite caves you can explore in various different ways: in a simple group excursion or an exciting speleological tour.
